BWUHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Been on nights for the last week, knocking off at about 8am, right in the middle of rush hour in merry old London.

There is NOTHING, after an 11 hour shift in the wee hours, quite like whizzing past lines of stationary cars on their way into work, with nothing but a few cans of John Smiths and 7 hours kip ahead of you!

Traffic is horrendous between Heathrow and Harrow, thanks to road works etc, but it only added about 5 mins to my 30 min commute.....nice!

Not of much interest to most people, and I'm sure we've all had similar experiences, but I had to gloat to someone, my non-riding flatmate just doesn't understand!

I get what you mean, esp as I commute across the M5/M6 sections of motorway..... I swear it resembles more a parking lot at times.

My route is the other way around. I go to work along nothing but country lanes for around 10 miles, no traffic hardly, except the odd slow driver. Problem is, I get stuck behind these slower folk, due to being in a 1.6 diesel automatic Toyota. I can't take the bike this way due to the roads being full of gravel, wonky trenches, mud and loads of leaves. Some of the worst roads in Derbyshire really!

boo hoo. Sad

Not good Sad

That said, most of the roads I have to use, despite being busy main roads and having constant roadworks, resemble something from the Somme, potholes, bits of shrapnel everywhere, the lot.
