PostPosted: 02:08 - 16 Jan 2005    Post subject: Honda PC800 - information Reply with quote

I just wanted to re-post my question and thank everyone that replyed. I'm hoping to hear from others that may have owned or at least riden the PC 800. Once again, Thanks Smile

I'm thinking of trading my 2003 Kaw Vulcan 750 for a 1996 or 1997 Honda PC 800. The KBB values are about the same, and I'm looking for a good bike I can use for both going to work (19 miles - one way) to long weekend trips (500 to 600 miles-overnite). The Kaw is a great bike, easy to ride, but there is almost know storage (including after market). I'm looking for any information, thoughs, comments from people that have or had the PC 800. Interested in your likes and dis-likes. Thanks for your input , , , Question Question

I was hoping to hear from anyone that owned/rode one. Seams like a decent bike for both short trips and long trips - good around town, and lots of sorage. What I'm looking for is information on confort, reliability, maintainance/macanicle issue. I'm not looking for a speed deman, as long as it gets around OK at highway speeds (70-80mph) Thanks for the comments , , ,

No idea if you have seen these before but I dont THINK many have heard of that bike, let alone ridden it so:

P.S Infact, it looks remarkably like a honda pan europe. Has it just been rebadged for over there? I'd assume so....In that case, tehres a few thats ridden them I believe.

Its basically a bored out Deauville.

It has the same engine as the Bros (Hawk), Africa Twin and the Deauville - except its bored out to 800cc.

I should imagine, with all that bodywork and with a bored out africa twin engine, that it isn't fast!

As with all Hondas Its probably as reliable as the rising sun and pretty bland.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Looks very much like a Mini Pan Euro, but with a 800cc V-Twin.

As MarJay says it seems to use the same Motor as the Deauville/Africa Twin, both considered not exactly exciting.

Also to me it looks like a overblown scooter from the back. Confused

Hi

It predated the Pan and was Hondas attempt to build a bike for the US market that would appeal to non riders. It was a sales flop.

Not actually meant to be a bad bike though.

All the best
