Basically I have only got upto about 120 on my ZXR, Does it need one of those de-restrictor boxes as it is an import? It has something that looks like the de-restrictor box in the back of the rev counter but i'm not sure if this is just a standard one or de-restrictor one as it was on the bike whern i bought it.
How easy is it to get from 120 to 140 on the ZXR?

few things really , the de-restrictor will plug into the speedo at the back , does the bike have a aftermarket can if so has it been re-jetted to suit as it might be running slightly lean/rich up the top end of the rev's as you know on 400's this where all of the power is and also are you tucking in and have you got a long enough straight to test will take a fair bit of time to get from 120-140 on a 400.  |
