Hi

You need to find out how much your insurance company will cover you on those bikes for. Just because they were cheap for a 50 does not mean they will be cheap for a 125 sports bike, unfortunatly. You might find that it is cheaper to cancel the existing policy and take out a new one for a 125, but then you put off getting a years no claims for another 6 months or so.

All the best

Keith

First, you may well find it comes out cheaper to get a new policy.

Also; you're happy to turn up on a scooter, but don't want to turn up on a cg?
Personally I'd much rather turn up on a 'real' bike Smile.

Personally, I'd get a cheap cg or similar and budget in the cost of your test for a few months after.
You will be able to sell the cg for about what you paid; more if you get a bargain and sell it well.
Then you will be able to turn up at college on a much better looking bike; that would probably demand more respect, presuming that's what you want.

For a DT125, NS125 etc you're looking at starting at about £600 for an ok one. For the shiner new bikes at least £1k probably.

Hi

DT125LCs have been out for about 20 years, so you should be able to find one given time. Trouble is that too many of them get nicked and used as field bikes.

The Sachs is very expensive, fairly slow and quite a cheaply built bike.

All the best

Taken from adtrader:
Keep an eye out and there's plenty out there.
If you've got money to spend before you're 17, then you've got plenty of time to be patient and wait for bargains to come up.
