Passed my test yesterday so im over the moon, however i need a bike! i have my eyes on a CBR 600F in black/titanium. its a 1998 wih 6 months MOT, 12 months tax, only 7300 miles on the clock. £2800 is this a decent price everyone, i understand that you'd have to see it properly to judge but he is genuine and he is a copper so i dont think he is the type to lie. what do you think sound reasonable?? Confused

Sounds quite a good deal from what I know about cbr600f prices. Prices on ebay for similar spec are roughly the same if not alittle more.

I take it you passed your DAS test then, yeah?

P.S Read Gs post below, looks like I may have been a bit out. I dont think its that bad a deal of course, and remember you should knock off about £150 when haggling :p

Sounds a bit much.

I'd be looking at an FX or FY model for that price.

Sounds good if you ask me, having bought a CBR600F 1999 in November. Granted it was from a dealership so i paid more but cuts out the 'what if' factor if something isnt right.

If it looks trustworthy (a policeman shouldnt be a problem) and you like the bike then i would go for it. Sounds like a decent price long as its in good (i.e immaculateish) condition.

If it's a 99 model it should be the fx I believe, which was quite a different design.

Straight from my DVLA V5

Date of 1st Reg - 15 07 1999

Make of Bike - CBR 600F

*points to Bendys*

Identical to that but with the Silver Background - Yellow writing colour scheme.

And the fact it has 600F written on the side.
The FX's were end of 1999 start of 2000 i think.
