Looking at the pictures from all the major bike manufacturers GP bikes i noticed that the exhausts seemed miles apart

Theres the Suzuki GSV-R that seems to have an extended down pipe rarther than a end can
https://www.thebikesite.com/images/gp2002/yamahaGP2002/yamaha%20m1%202002%20gp.jpg
The Yamaha M1 Thats got the biggest exhaust i have ever seen on a bike (Well except for that jet powered bike i seen at the NEC)
https://www.thebikesite.com/images/gp2002/hondaGP2002/rc211%20honda%20GP%20moto%202002.jpg
The Honda RCV thats got its exhausts hidden away but at least the top one looks stubby and square.
https://www.thebikesite.com/images/gp2002/apriliaGP2002/aprilia%20GP2002%20rear.jpg
The Aprilia seems the most normal of all
https://www.motorcyclenews.com/content/images/Racing/Grand_Prix/News/images/02323136.jpg
And finally the kawazaki that dosn't seem to have one at all

So why have all these companies all got different ideas on the best exhaust design when it comes to GP bikes but when it comes to road bikes they are all fairly similar.

i think exhaust desighns are gettin abit odd, remeber the bike manufacturer dosnt have complete control over the exhausts look.

i manufacturer say yamaha for example propably asked yoshimura(or who ever there exhausts are maid by) to make them a pipe that produce an extra 50bhp at 5000rpm or somthing around those lines so the exhuast company whould come back with the pipe, that should explain the exhaust pipes.

i personally think the honda is the best putting te pipe in the middle should make the bike balancing almost perfect, and it looks cool to :)

That ZX-RR is only a computer generated vision of how it will look. It gives an example of what the bike should look like, so they have probably neglected to put an exhaust on it. Or then again it may run under the seat and therefore is not visible from the side.

That same picture is in MCN this week.

It looks as though the Kwak exhaust is under the seat, and blows out up through the back of the seat...maybe...

here's a little computer simulation using the latest technology... 8)
