I've been trying to get some Yamaha Fuel Stabiliser for over winter (run out last year). However, can't seem to find any, the 2 Yamaha dealers I've tried don't stock it.

So questions:
1. Do Yamaha still make/distribute this?
2. If answer to 1 is YES then where can I get it?
3. If answer to 1 is NO what alternatives are there.

I 've been told about Silkolene FST but is this just for carb icing or is it a stabiliser as well (stops petrol left in carbs from turning to gunk). The Silkolene site doesn't say it's a stabiliser as such...
Quote:
Pro FST - Fuel System Treatment for all scooter and motorcycle engines
A fully effective carburettor de-icer which also guards against cold start engine wear and fuel system corrosion. Combats carburettor sticking and jet blocking. Effective in all unleaded and leaded fuels. Suitable for 2 and 4-stroke engines. Also combats minor pre-ignition effects.

Any help appreciated, MAP

Hi

Don't know if they still sell it, and don't know if the Silkolene is a fuel stabilisor (doesn't really sound like it is from that description).

However the general source I have been told is to try the local lawn mower dealer.

All the best

Keith
