I stripped some of my electrics down to put better connectors on. I taped all the electrics up and the bike wouldn't start. Checked a few of the cables again and two going to the cdi had come loose. It still won't start. Could i have done in the CDI or could more be loose??

I would say if some were loose, others may well be loose too.

What sort of terminals did you use? Did you use a proper crimping tool?

Please tell me you didn't use those terminals with blue plastic insulation on them then squeeze them with pliers.

I heard superglue is best Laughing

I suggest going over EVERY connection and testing it, it is worth it in the end. You won't be questioning whether your bike is safe or not while riding.

Got it in one. The guy at the car shop recommended them. I have connected the wires together directly now. It works ok.

Whats wrong with the blue plastic insulation stuff? Thats what I've got on my bike in its electrics, apart from them being a complete bugger to take off, I think they're pretty good Thumbs Up

THIS THREAD explains how to do joints properly and why you should not use pliers to crimp them.

I did that thread for MY benefit against the possibility that I ever buy a second hand bike off one of you lot Wink Laughing

LOL @ crimping with pliers Laughing

Working for an electrical contractors, despite not as a sparky.. you kinda pick up that crimping should be done with a DECENT crimp tool only.. cheap crimp tools or pliers are just PANTS.... and not worth the effort!

Invest in a proper crimper, a DECENT one Laughing
