How fast do RS125's go standard and de-restricted, are they de-restricted just by putting a racing exhaust on??

Derestricted they will do just over 100mph but the speedo will read more. They are meant to rev to 8k rpm restricted so I guess they will do about 80mph.

They are restricted by the exhaust and by whether the power valve is connected up. Some bikes are supplied without a powervalve so this can put the price of derestricing up.

It should be possible to get an older but looked after example for around £1k. When I get rid of mine which I have been thinking about for a while, I will probably be after about 1k for it. Thats for a 1998 bike with low mileage, a top end rebuild 2km ago and two fairings (one with a crack and badly sprayed - bike blew over in the wind, the other brand new).

No idea, I use it mainly for commuting. Is happy at 80mph up my local dual carrigeway at 8k RPM. I saw 95mph out of it when a car driver was winding me up.

It's more about the speed it accelerates at!

It's a surprisingly good commuter, very narrow & the mirrors don't stick out very far, I've yet to hit any wing mirrors in a whole year of commuting & filtering. You can also get a good 45-55mpg mpg out of it, though you'll need to fill up every 80-100 miles.

EDIt - I just got a new TPFT quote on it - £470, quite a difference from the £660 renewal I was given by my current insurers! Middle Finger

Lmao! Clutches don't last forever you know! Just wait til you get access to the powerband...

I haven't beat a single bike off the lights, and got annihilated by a Sierra Cosworth a few months back.
