My hubby brought a 99 ZX6r in November but with only 3000 miles on the clock we paid considerably more than that. For that money I would expect about 13000+ miles on the clock in good condition if buying private. Looking at a garage you will most likely be pushed to find one with less than 20K on the clock.

You can get a 99 with low miles in good condition. They are cheap. 2,7 is more than enough. Start at under 2,5 for the 99+ ones (private).

Private is much cheaper than dealer. Take a friend who knows bikes to look it over.

Was planning to go private, much perfer to see the bike in its home, can answer how its been looked after and you can chat to the owner and if they are decent they will be fairly truthful and you can really find out about the bike, warts and all. plus at a dealer i think i would get carried away with how shiny it looks next to other shiny bikes!

If you find a bike, I'll be quite happy to pop down and have a look at it with you (always like looking at bikes).
