Right i know this has been posted a lot, and im sure to get some 'read this thread' remarks. But i want to know what are your techniques for getting your knee down. And any tips you can give anyone new to this experience, like me.

Also can it be easily done on a CG? or do you just have to be a stupid/risk taker rider?

Have a read through all that.
Should be possible on a CG, no real need though, other than a bit of fun of course.

You aren't going to do it, i've tried getting low as i can on my cg on a very tight turn, you feel the back sliding outwards, it's very scary. CGs don't corner that well!

Thanks stew i was looking for a good threat but there were so many. Sort of understood it but when sunday comes and if its not wet i shall stick my old gear on and give it ago. Im sure ill come off a few times but thats all part of learning.

Thanks for you input will. I hate it when my back wheel slides outwards but thats something i shall have to learn to get over. So it just looks like practicing KD's has more than one purpose. Well thats what i'll tell myself! Very Happy

Thumbs Up for Yams for giving us that guide maybe making it a sticky as everyone seems to talk and ask about them? or is that me just babbling on again?

Yeah loads of people ask about it, you can read about it all you like but the only way to actually do it is to practice and gain confidence. It helps to go with a mate who can advise on how low you are going and a camera helps too. Main thing......relax or it will never happen. Thumbs Up

Someone taking pictures was what got me down in the end. I could actually see I was doing, and what I needed to do more of.

Just hang off like a monkey!. Once you're used to actually getting your knee down you can work on leaning the bike more and more. When I'm playing I'm only held on the bike by the inside of my left knee/calf and that makes KD easy on pretty much any bike.
And forget that speed's an issue, most average size roundys can be done at 25-30mph so you don't need to go bombing round.
Also... get yourself set up before hitting the roundabout, hanging off the bike mid corner takes practice and can mess up your line easily.
Then just go have fun. I loved those weekends at Scunny, just pissing about trying to see what was what possible. Left knee down, Foot and hand off, full laps etc. Great Fun!

Have you checked your tyres/tyre pressures?

I could get the pegs down on my cg; which is a slightly odd feeling as they bounce up due to the rubber coating.

Basic thing is to hang off lots initially. You should be able to get your knee down with the bike still pretty vertical, then you can start to lean the bike a bit more.
