Average cost of fitting forks

My local Piaggio center quoted me £80 + VAT to fit some forks to my Piaggio NRG. Is that about right?

I assume that they've got to take off the old ones as well? Is it £80+VAT for just the fitting service? Unfortunately, I'm not too familiar with the anatomy of scooters, so I can't offer any specific insight...but if the price is only for labour, then it sounds like 3 or 4 hours worth, which seems a but much to me (can they charge VAT on labour?).

Nope there idea of £80 is 2 hours worth of labour with VAT on top. This is the place where I brought it from and have a 100% service record. Rolling Eyes

I would do it myself but I can't budge the front wheel from the spindle.

If you're confident about them and have no alternative, then I can't really dissuade you, but it is rather pricey.

Hi

£40 an hour is fairly high, but not unknown. For a car main dealer that would be a pretty low labour rate.
