I'm looking to do some advertising this year, I'd love to know what publications people love or hate.

Thanks in advance.

To be honest there aren't any mags that I hate, just ones I don't buy.

I subscribe to TWO (but will be cancelling soon)
I buy MCN every week
I occasionally get Ride & Bike, mostly read in Tescos and if there is an article that grabs my eye I'll actually purchase it!
Stuff like Perfomance Bikes and the like can sometimes be too immature even for me (T&A), and I personally don't feel I am their target readership anyway! Wink
BSH/Classic Bike/Custom genre again fairly specialist mags, but I don't rule out a bit of a browse.

So there you go

I prefer RiDE to anything else

T.W.O has completely lost the plot these days and BIKE is going that way as well, although their reviews are still better than t.w.o. I dont bother with the performance bikes and stuff like that because its usually just breasts and shiny fairings in that Sad

Dont bother with MCN myself, I've got the internet for that kind of stuff.

Buy MCN occasionaly.
I prefer the 'immature' mags; as they perhaps suit my riding and asparations best. Though Performance Bikes seems to be turning into Ride, too glossy and shiny, too many features that seem to be complete bollocks; like Ride and Bike.
Get Streetfigheters occasionaly as well.

Never liked TWO, just because it's, well, new.

If I bother, I get Used Bike Guide, and maybe Which Bike? (published twice yearly). Occasionally get MCN, normally if I'm looking for a new bike.

performance bikes is ok.

I like Ride personally, it's got a nice blend of crazy inaffordable sports bikes, articles for learners, maintainance etc, new bikes, new 50ccs, new 125s etc.

I just like how it caters for everything.

Ride Thumbs Up seems to be the pick of the bunch for me.

All the others 'Performance Bike' and 'Bike' are all fairly similar. But Ride's product reviews, monthly cheap deals, maintainance etc are done well and with good humor too!

MCN occasionally.

I've got a subscription to BIKE. I think you get a fair wedge of VFM with it, plus I value the opinions of Martin Child/ Kev Smith and their Editor. Also - I like to keep up with Dan Walsh on his journey across the Americas.

Can't stand Ride - if they interview another fat lesbian about what used bike they want for £2K again I'll scream.

PB/ Fast Bikes et al used to be good. Now they just annoy me.

T.W.O takes me five minutes to read which I feel cheated by.

I also the prefer buying the mag RIDE because of it's monthly review of bike gear comparison from head to toe for different levels of spending that biker's can afford. Also, the latest reviews of new bikes and look backs at some of the old models out there for comparison and not forgeting their handy bike maintenance tips and recommended tools to buy!

A pratical biker freebie lately like neck warmers and bike security cable, etc, on the cover always gets me to buy it !

Dunno whether it counts a mag, but MCN pretty much without fail and maybe buy the one of the mags once in a while if something on the front page catches my eye.

I agree, that 'best 33hp bike' article was a joke. Apparently in RiDE land the 400 Bros is restricted to 50bhp as standard, an RVF400 is unrideable for anyone over 5' 6", and a 200kg 1960's designed Triumph is the best bike for someone just passing there test Confused I think someone was having a laugh that day.

Magazines that teach me and help me to improve my mechanical skills and understanding as a bonus are cool - so Bike, RiDE and TWO gets the thumbs up. If i want a catalogue of what's in and out - i occasionally get What Bike on a quarterly basis (as they usually do)

Sounds like a good reason to buy it to me Wink

Well I buy MCN/Bike and RiDe whenever they come out. I read T.W.O at work.

Dunno, I just find reading them interesting. Smile

RiDE magazine for me. Very Happy Seems the most sensible and covers normal biking stuff along with a wee bit of the exotic.

Too many reviews on 600 and 1k sports bikes puts me off mags like PB. If I see another GSXR600 v ZX6-R v CBR600RR test I'll explode! Twisted Evil

MCN is pretty good for a quick read, but not enough to make me want to buy it every week.

i like Bike, it's got a lot of reading in it, not just straight reviews

Pervy Bike is crap now, it's almost like max power
Superbike is the same

i still get Fast Bikes, but it's nowhere as good as it was in the mid 90s
