Has ended!

I got bored of waiting for redex to do the job for me so i drained the tank (full tank) and got the muck out of the bottom, i aslo cleaned the fuel filter(s)

So now it runs a lot better, but i had to change idle settings.

I was amazed at how much grit was at the bottom.

I posted a while ago about fuel blockage and it happened again this morning and couldnt be arsed for it to happen again.

Ive never done anything that techincal on a bike before usually its just oil this oil that.

Take the tank off the bike. Get a handfull of nuts (metal ones, not peanuts Rolling Eyes ) and thread them on a piece of string, tie it in a loop so they are really loose but attached to the string. Put your new necklace of nuts in the fuel tank and add a little fuel, a cupfull is enough. Rock the tank back and forts so the nuts rub about in the bottom and sides of the tank.

After a while, empty out the fuel and put in some fresh stuff, repeat until the fuel drains out clean then fish out the nuts (which you can easily do because you put them on some string see?). A handful of big ball bearings works well fo this too but are tricky to remove without a magnet on a stick.

Remove any internal fuel filters and the tap (replace with a bung) before doing this or you'll wreck it.
