Take the tank off the bike. Get a handfull of nuts (metal ones, not peanuts ) and thread them on a piece of string, tie it in a loop so they are really loose but attached to the string. Put your new necklace of nuts in the fuel tank and add a little fuel, a cupfull is enough. Rock the tank back and forts so the nuts rub about in the bottom and sides of the tank.
After a while, empty out the fuel and put in some fresh stuff, repeat until the fuel drains out clean then fish out the nuts (which you can easily do because you put them on some string see?). A handful of big ball bearings works well fo this too but are tricky to remove without a magnet on a stick.
Remove any internal fuel filters and the tap (replace with a bung) before doing this or you'll wreck it. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
