OK, after coming off my RS50 and ripping both the front indis off i decided to replace them with mini arrow ones. The someone rode into the back of me, so i replaced the rear ones too, my relay was going mental. So i replaced it with a 4x21w relay from halfords, this seemed fine.

But now i've noticed that as my revs increase, the flash rate does too, and sometimes when i flick the switch, the indis don't turn on until i pull the clutch in (revs drop)

This was covered in a bike mag recently.

I forget what the actual problem was, but I think they said it was the alternator, that's allowing more voltage through as the revs raise. It needs replacing and can't be ignored.

alternator, or variator, I forget, something like that.

Regulator?

Sorry I can't be more precise.

Sounds like your voltage regulator may be on the way out, or something else on the charging system.

Get a voltmeter and measure Volts DC across the two terminals of the battery. It should be 12v with the engine off. With the engine running it should rise to between 14 and 15volts as you increase the revs, any higher or failure to go this high and you have a problem.

Couldn't be anything to do with a high powered charger (halfords up to 1200cc) being hooked up to the battery could it?

It wasn't on for a long time though, about 2 mins.

Also, how much would anew regulator be, and how much for a second hand one?? Roughly

They usually come as a regulator/rectifier unit. For most bikes (I know nothing about yours) one from a breakers would be around 30-40 quid. A new one could be well into three figures.

If you are into wiring, the best thing is to fit a superdream reg/rec in place of the original one then you can forget about it. This would take some knowlege of how a charging system and wiring loom is put together though.

Indicators are crap, they always stop working and a generally a point of worry.

Hey! My indicators Look perfectly fine!
And I give peugeot a Thumbs Up for putting thought into making the indicators fit in with the bike! Mr. Green
The only time I had trouble was when I decided to be a chav and put Blue bulbs in (which were 5w each) and my standards are (10w each) after a day of my indicators either flashing tripple speed or not flashing but staying on. I returned to standard. But they are the only problems ive EVER had!
Well, On the rear left the wire is soildered straight onto the bulb as the terminal rotted off Confused
