Badge on the side looks like Durham police.
Like on the Volvo...

Durham has a good reputation for bikers and safety. The chief constable doesn't have any fixed speed cameras
(although they do have mobile - here).
They prefer education and have a number of sports bikes in the police logo that they take out to bike meets to break the ice and get talking.
Must work too, as the number of deaths for bikes is very very low (about 1 or 2 from memory) where somewhere like Essex with no police motorcycles the number of deaths is in the high 20s or low 30s (again from memory, please someone correct if possible). Suspect the roads are nicer in Durham too!

a lot of these bikes are just to generate publicity, to take to shows, bike meets etc get bikers seeing the cops as OK
(i used to live in County Durham, roads are ok!) ____________________ "There are some things nobody needs in this world, and a bright-red, hunch-back, warp-speed 900cc cafe racer is one of them - but I want one anyway, and on some days I actually believe I need one. That is why they are dangerous."

County Durham has a FireBlade and VTR kicking about. I havn't seen the blackbird but it wouldn't suprise me. Will ask me dad about it though (he's in the Durham force). The VTR plus FireBlade were patroling the roads at the croft Superbikes, they got more looks than the Cresent Suzi's . No Gasto's in Durham at all, but the vans are a tad sneaky, but I'm all for reducing deaths. ____________________ If I Die... I Die! |
