hey all i posted my cagiva on here bout as month ago sticking at 7k rpm its a j reg mito just got it back from the garage he sorted all the power valve out but still sticks at 7k i dont understand why? any 1 know thx. Twisted Evil

What do you mean by still sticks at 7k and so do you mean the needle on the rev counter ? If that is the case then you maybe need a replacement rev counter or get it repaired.

wat i mean by sticks is that it will not rev past 7k so i lose a hell of alot of power i have just been told that i have no snorkle for air intake could this be the problum?

Hi

If the snorkel is missing it might have some effect (they are shaped to smooth the air flow into the airbox, so although removing it might make the hole bigger it actually can flow less air)., I would really doubt it would limit the engine to 7000rpm.

I presume the exhaust has been rerestricted?

Is it a very firm limit of 7000rpm, or will it go higher it lower gears or not reach that high in the higher gears?

If it stops pretty much dead at 7000rpm in any gear then it is probably an electrical problem, or possibly ignition timing.

If it can be persuaded past there in, say, first, then more likely to be a fueling problem or a mechanical problem.

mate i will tell u right now, u need to get the restiction mod taken off ur mito... go back to the place u brought it from, if a private sale then go to a licenced cagiva dealer and get it removed, it costd me about AUS $500
