PostPosted: 17:42 - 30 Jan 2005    Post subject: Winter Gloves Reply with quote

I was out for my DAS lesson last weekend, with my nice leather carbon knuckle racing gloves (with vents in!!) when both my hands froze solid and fell off, after bringing the bike safely to a stop with my teeth, my instructor suggested that I get some winter gloves.

Who'd of though summer gloves would be cold in January! Doh!

Anyway, any recommendation people? I would ideally like to spend around £30 to £40.

Thanks in advance Smile

I've got a pair of frank thomas gore tex gloves. Pretty good in keeping your hands warm in all but the coldest of conditions. No real procection in them but the material is pretty durable.

Infact, its these ones I have, but they do have a frank thomas badge on them, not shown on the picture in the link

I paid £40 and I was pushed to pay that much as well. Invest in some inner gloves as well, as they will help keep your hands that wee bit warmer. Plus you can actually move your fingers in them and feel the controls, something which is hard to do with bigger, more padded gloves Thumbs Up

The link above is for my gloves, check the main glove page out for more Smile

Hein Gericke Thumbs Up
They do two very good sets of winter gloves, the lobster claw design and a set that are normal 4 toe design.
I've got the normal type ones and they are great, when used with my heated grips i can go the 10miles to town without feeling any cold. Hanvt ridden much further with them yet.

Pluvios are the ONLY gloves to have in winter. Theyr'e made by an Austrian company (who know alot about the cold!) called Racer, rrp about £80. Never have to buy another pair of gloves again. Neoprene inner lining, goretex, kevlar the lot. /Very/ warm gloves.
Buy them at Infinity. Mr. Green

Exclamation Caution! Don't use with ehated grips as you will end up having too hot hands!
