OMG . I had no idea that a inline 4 would be so different to a twin of same cc.
I feel like I have to ride everywhere with stupidly high revs.
Hardly any engine braking, 14k redline, gas guzzler and general hoon behaviour.
OK a few questions.
1. It's got an aftermarket exhaust system (whole shebang). I very much doubt it's been set up properly, would this have an effect on the fuel consumption and performance because at the moment it feels a bit steep 8quid = 160km, 100miles?
2. The rev counter light is out, how do I go about replacing that?
3. The speedo is in km and isn't linked to the front wheel, can I use the blue motrax convertor on it still?
4. Theres a touring scottoiler on it but it is out of oil and isn't properly set up from what I gather. How do I set it up and where does the dripper bit go. (Iv'e heard I have to adjust it for temperature).
5. How the hell do I start off? At the moment I totally over rev and then stutter off the line.
6. My front brakes buzz when I put them on is this meant to happen? There braided so maybe that makes a difference.
7. How do I easily get out fucked screws?
But other than that it drives like a dream, steering is light and responsive and it just generally feels good
If anyone can answer any of them that would be great.

My VFR400 was about the same. CB-1 is a honda four, they are just like that I think.

I think so, you can do it at the speedo end afaik, as long as it isn't electronic.

I don't really adjust mine for temperature. The twisty end cap on the resevior adjusts the flow on an ordinary scottoiler. I think its the same on a touring kit. I usually stick mine on 2 or 3. The injector needs to be almost touching the side of the sprocket. Ideally you'd want to upgrade to a dual injector as these lube both sides of the chain.
| DukeRed wrote: | 5. How the hell do I start off? At the moment I totally over rev and then stutter off the line. | You'll need to rev it quite hard and slip the clutch a lot. Basically you need to kind of regulate the amount of bite on the clutch so the revs stay the same, and you are accelerating until the clutch is fully out. It takes a little practice, but you'll get the hang of it.

Not sure, my brakes hiss when I pull them on, they always have done. They work really well, so I don't think its anything wrong on mine. Can you feel vibration or pulsing through the brake lever? If you can it might be a warped disc, otherwise if the brakes work, I wouldn't worry.

Not easily, you can either drill them out, or if they are large enough, drill a small hole and drive a reverse tap into them, allowing you to unscrew the screw by screwing in the reverse tap, cos its reverse! (if that makes sense... )
