There's a 1986 RG400 for sale in the local paper for around 600 quid. Has a pic and looks pretty good... something like this:
https://www.suzukicycles.org/photos/suzuki-history/1986/1986_RG400gamma_250.jpg
Does anybody know much about them? It's not really what I'm looking for, but it seems to be a very realistic price, and being a 400 2-stroke should have plenty of go.
I found these specs on the web:
RG 400 Gamma 1986
Model code: RG400EW-2
Overall length: 2 100 mm (82.7 in)
Overall width: 695 mm (27.4 in)
Overall height: 1 185 mm (46.7 in)
Wheelbase: 1 365 mm (53.7 in)
Dry weight: 157 kg (345 lbs)
Engine type: Water-cooled 397 cc 2-stroke square-4. 59 hp/ 9.000 rpm, 4,9 kg-m/ 8.500 rpm.
Opinions/experiences please. ____________________ Dangerous traffic offences spotted on 50-minute trip: Lost count after 100. Number of traffic cops spotted: One, sitting by a speed-trap camera

Can you still get spare parts for them? (considering their age).
If you crash it, you might be unable to get parts.
Pesonally I would stay in the 90's upwards |

Hi
Japanese market version of the RG500. Pretty much the same except the engine (and you cannot just swap the barrels). Think Stan Stephens did a 475cc conversion for them.
A more modern 400 would leave it for dead, but (ironically) and old one of these is probably more flexable.
Handing was good at the time, 20 years ago, but tyre choice will be limited.
All the best
