Hey all,
Sadly I have to admit that the exhaust on my bike is totally shot Thumbs Down Well, actually its only about a foot of it which is annoying but anyway.
Phoned a local breakers and he's had a look and no TZR exhaust Thumbs Down but they do have an aftermarket exhaust from a 125 LC that they'll be breaking this week.
So to preempt the guy (and so I know to look elsewhere quicker) can anyone tell me if it will fit?
Cheers Thumbs Up

Whats wrong with the original? Can you not just weld it back together, or is it totally broken?

Why not get an aftermarket exhaust? It may be cheaper.

Its just a mess mate Sad Five or six decent sized holes and one crack Thumbs Down Needs replacing really and I don't want to pay for new, aftermarket or OE. I blame the new road salt for the sudden death of it too Thumbs Down

Mine's always covered in crap at the moment.

Try other breakers I suppose or just look on ebay everyday.

Thanks for the link mate, but Shocked at the cost! I'm looking to spend about £50 down the breakers so a new aftermarket is a tad steep for me. Cheers anyway though Very Happy

Here's another alternative from a breaker that states on their homepage that they are breaking TZR125. Here's their contact details;

Cheers again Scotsman37 Thumbs Up
I have however come across this on eBay > Allspeed exhaust. Now it does look like it'll fit, but I've asked the seller just in case.
What I'd like though, is someone to tell me how much it's worth? I've really no idea. Bear in mind there's £20 postage already on it.
Also, will this exhaust require any carb rejetting or anything like that?
Cheers Thumbs Up

(off to attempt to gun gum up my current exhaust to make it vaguely useable Rolling Eyes)

The BS AU 193 kite marked on it means it was made prior to 1997 when that was inforced as a replacement exhaust to be marked on their by an Original Equipment manufacturer/supplier i.e. Allspeed and others too, as it conforms to the UK's noise regulations around that time when that exhaust was manufactured.

I've seen ones mentioning on other forums for about £50 an Allspeed exhaust for the RD125 and so that might about the going price for an exahust of that age of bike to match that cc engine.

You may need to get your bike retuned to get the performance boost which that exhaust might give you, but as it an OE exhaust you may get that extra boost straight off.

Excellent post, thanks for that Thumbs Up
However, the one thing that I'm still a little lost on - will it fit my '89 TZR? From my knowledge it was all change on the '94 models, which could mean that this exhaust (pre '97) is no good to me Sad

(gun gum appears to be holding Very Happy)

Did a bit of further digging around and found this site in regarding to kite marks on exhausts;

The exhaust mentions BS AU 193 and yours also has the 2 after it which looks like it puts in the category for April 83 to March 91.

Hi

That Allspeed exhaust looks in good condition. I had one of their pipes years ago on an MBX125 and they were well made and gave good power gains.

However Micron bought out the rights to the Allspeed name, and after a while gave up marketing them. I would be very surprised if they had developed an exhaust badged Allspeed for the later model TZR125s. Not even certain that they did any for the early TZR.

As a pipe it might well work. The TZR used the same engine as the very late RD125LC (the RDZ), but I would not be certain. Likely it would need rejetting. Also I would be quite surprised of the rear mounting point is in the same place on the RD and the TZR.

All the best

Keith
