My NSR is dead. Totally. Nothing, not a tap when I turn on the ignition.
I've checked all the obvious things like battery, etc.

Only thing I can think of is corrosion in the wires because last time I used the bike, when id use the indicator, the RPM would die. The lights only worked at times, etc... really cranky so it must be corrosion.

Has anyone any ideas where to start? Or know a common place for corrosion on the NSR's? It's a 2000 reg.

Any help appreciated

It sounds like your electrics are shorting out the ignition.

Have a poke around with a multimeter or disconnect all things except ignition and try starting it.

I've had this sort of thing happen twice on my NSR. First time it turned out to be a corroded wire in the loom on the left side under the tank (give it a wiggle and see if the ignition lights come on). Second time was yesterday, it turned out that the main fuse had corroded inside the end of the fuse body, so although it looked ok, it was buggered. You can test for this by taking the fuse out of the circuit, and tapping the fuse connectors together with the ignition on. HTH Thumbs Up

If it is your wiring loom that is corroded then here's a bike breaker that has used wiring looms for your bike in stock.
