I have recently purchased the following items , Doppler exhaust, Malossi Kevlar Belt and Polini Clutch + Clutch Bell Smile

The reason I decided to changed the Clutch is that the pads were worn having just bought the bike Confused

Is it worth, in terms of performance to replace the Variator (After Market)?

What difference would this make? I have stripped my old variator unit down and cleaned it and put new Variator roller in supplied when I bough my Doppler Exhaust. Anyone with any knowledge that can advise me of the performace increase i may gain. Not so much TOP end but excelleration. Cheers Thumbs Up

Not sure as I have not ridden it since the upgrades, Currently full of Cold!... Although I am expecting a huge improvment as the old clutch only had <1mm of pads left as they where badly worn. Before replacing the clutch I was doing about 55mph. although took plenty of revs to start moving Laughing Now I have the Exhaust and new clutch and Malossi belt I exspect to be a bit quicker. I will try bike next few days and post what the new perfoirmace is like. Thumbs Up

I had a tuned speedfight 100, and i did everything you mentioned to it. personally i feel it was a waste of time and money in many respects, but as you have asked about the Variator then, no i dont think it was worth changing. I lost so much acceleration no matter what sort and type of belt or rollers i used. The Doppler exhaust works quite well on its own, and all i would reccomend is that you replace all the std parts with the same, but try using stronger Malossi clutch springs, think they were yellow coloured, and fit a new std belt to the existing variator. The rollers should be replaced at the same time and i wouldtry about 1gram lighter than std for a Doppler pipe. with std gearing and variator this should take you up to about 62mph approx, instead of 55mph as std. The variator and bigger carb+reedblock+high compression head and ported cylinder only took mine to 68mph on the flat, and 73mph downhill. It was dog slow off the mark, and i struggled to beat cars sometimes up to 25-30mph, by which time the power came it its usually too late. Tuning the 100cc any further than getting a sports pipe to break the 60mph barrier is a fruitless and pointless excercise!

Thanks Stevo for the advise. I suppose if you only looking at and extra 2-3 mph then it would be silly and pointless, why not buy a bigger bike, more cc. More money I know but I suppose better spent. Thanks again Thumbs Up
