I'm itching to get riding now the suns out but my money says I won't be able to afford it till the summer anyway..!!

Idea Does anyone know where I can hire a sports bike? I have only had my license a month!

You'll be very lucky to hire anything remotely interesting with a 1 month licence I'm afraid.

I'm using the local bike hire place as an example here... you need to be 25 to rent a sports 600 and 30 to rent a litre sports, and they required you to have your licence at least a year.

Not all places will be the same, but with 1 month experience I wouldn't get my hopes up too much.

It may be worth having a look on e-bay.

There are plenty of older sports bikes going for around £500. I've got my eye on a GPZ600R currently going for £300. OK it's not the prettiest bike out there, but if I was to bin it, I wouldn't care too much.

Also the cost of hiring a bike will quickly exceed the cost of buying one under HP within less than a week. The only place I could find to rent a bike (before I got my busa) wanted around £300 a week to rent a CBR600F.

Regards

Dave

As Davo said; you can buy a cheap bike for the cost of a few days hire of a big sports bike.

this is fairly irrelevant but I have to post it anyway... I was on holiday in Italy at Lake Garda a few years back and there was a place hiring out motorbikes.

Which bikes were they hiring?

standard Vespa scooters... and Ducati Monsters! Only in Italy Laughing

Well, a 600 monster doesn't have much more go (or stopping force) than a 200cc Vespa probably Razz.

I picked up my XJ600 for ~£400

72bhp, loads of MOT left, much better than hiring a bike. Although it may not be the prettiest thing ever.

I just picked up an er-5 today aswell, £620, loads of MOT, couple of rusty nuts/bolts other than that, lovely.
