It was kinda a strange crash too, i put it down to slippery surface and crap tyres.

What sort of tyres do people recommend for a honda CG?

You can buy Continental, etc. , just about any of the good brand names that give you better grip for cornering. You do have to take it easy at first with newly fitted tyres because you have to get the shine off them before you really can corner with them.... Twisted Evil

Continental tyres for example;

Honda CG 125 >'84 CG 125
Front

2.75 - 18 ContiCity CC 1 48 P TT

Rear

3.00 - 17 ContiCity CC 1 50 P TT 1.70 / 2.10 C18 / D17

----

Honda CG 125 '85> JC 18 / JC 27

Front

2.75 - 18 ContiCity CC 1 48 P TT

Rear

3.00 - 18 ContiCity CC 1 52 P TT 1.70 / 2.10 C18 / D18

I have a good record of surviving silliy accidents, as I have never (touch wood) broken, strained or sprained anything ever. And when you consider im a snowboard/skier and now a biker thats good going Razz

I was following him. It was really bizarre. he was taking it real easy around a sharpish corner and the back tyre just went out from under him.

We had a look at where he came off and it was dry, no diesel or anything and the rear wheel was still turning when he stopped so it wasnt as if the rear tyre locked up Shocked

I have added a picture of the comedy 70's tyres Embarassed

Not only tyres types to look at but throttle and clutch control and heat in the tyres is needed in slippery conditions.

I think his clutch and throttle control were fine but the tyres would have been stone cold though.
