Making his debut at age 13, he was later promoted to the International "A" class, where he blew across the finish line to take the 500cc Championship of the 1993 AlI Japan Road Race. In 1994, Norick burst onto the world scene with an incredible "wildcard" ride in the Japanese GP of the World Road Race, racing neck and neck with top riders like K. Schwantz and M.Doohan. Subsequently, riding the YZR500, he achieved repeat 6th place finishes in the Czech Rep.GP and American GP, earning recognition on the world scene as his undoubted talent had long promised to. From the 1995 season, he began full participation in the World Road Race GP, invariably securing top-10 finishes in the annual rankings of 1996, 1997 and 1998. |
