It isnt, they are mistaken.

It would be interesting to see a manual ped although it would kind of defeat the purpose in my opinion.

Manual mopeds are fine. Manual scooters aren't. Learn the difference between a moped and a scooter.

I ment scooter, but it came out ped Smile
They wouldnt make a manual scooter, it would be daft as you would need to use your feet and it couldnt really be done on a scooter as the position is all wrong which would probably cause problems especially when braking, well it would for me anyway as i find balancing on a scooter difficult. The only advantage of a scooter in my opinion is your feet dont get wet Wink

Nearest thing to a manual scooter might be the Vespa 50, if they still make them. Both clutch and gear change by the left hand.

Aye, the clutch is on the left bar, and the whole assembly moves to give you a sequential gearshift.

Back brake is therefore moved to the 'floor' and you use your right foot.

Isn't as weird as it sounds when you actually ride one.

They still make it in a 125 and 150, but alas, no more 50 :-

https://www.uk.vespa.com/_vti_g2_vers.asp?brand=VESPA&country=GB&language=EN&mod=PX&vers=PX125CAT

I had a go on a mate's Vespa 50 when I was 15 - having the gear change in one place made sense to me at the time. If I needed a local commuter, I'd look at getting a 150 myself. Probably faster than my Enfield anyway Smile
