Two young brothers, aged five and seven, are dead after the motorbike they were riding collided head on with a car.
The accident happened about 6.30 on Thursday night on a country road near Pohangina, in Manawatu.
They were riding a 70cc motorcycle.
Police are investigating the accident and will provide more details once a scene examination has been completed. ____________________ Dangerous traffic offences spotted on 50-minute trip: Lost count after 100. Number of traffic cops spotted: One, sitting by a speed-trap camera |

To be fair you cannot asume the parents were useless. Some kids are little sh1ts (suprised a 7 YO can ride a ped with a pillion!). Parents could have been cleaning up after dinner and the kids sneaked off or something.
OT (I sneaked off when I was 2. The Police were called to look for me and I was found asleep in a suitcase with the lid down ) |

I know that and agree. In all honesty I was a bit pissed when I typed this in and wanted to make the title sound more interesting I just wonder what they were doing riding on the road, and at that age (rightly or wrongly) it's the parents who will probably end up footing the blame. I don't wish to judge them. They will probably be blaming themselves and feeling pretty awful as it is.
From what I've heard outside of this article the kids bike drifted across the road into the other lane whilst going around a bend and hit the other car head on. The police still haven't released a formal statement, so there not much information to go on.
One thing I am sure we will agree on.. no matter who was at fault, or the situation is very sad. It's bad enough when anybody loses their life this way, but at this age, with all their lives ahead of them, it really is a tragic loss.
My thoughts go out to everybody that knew these kids, they must be in shock right now. There's really nothing I can write that would sum up how they must be feeling right now. ____________________ Dangerous traffic offences spotted on 50-minute trip: Lost count after 100. that is a very sad story ad a great shame. although the parents are probably in pieces and my heart goes out to them i also wonder how to littluns got out on the bike without being seen or heard. a very tragic accident that i guess they will have to deal with for the rest of their lives, i certainly wouldn't want to be in their shoes ____________________ squeeeeeeeeeeek |
