I've tried hot soapy water and WD40, what else will shift it??

I'd just remove the pillion pegs altogether.

Not like you'll ever use them is it?

They are getting removed soon anyway, i was on about where my feet go, the foot peg and brake lever etc... It's just as dirty on the left side too.

Warning!! Having no footrest for a pillion on a bike constructed to carry one is an MOT failure in the UK.
I just had to have one bodged on my GSX70F to get it thro' the test. Luckily the Local Bike Shop (Chells of Stafford) were kind enough to sort an odd old one out of stock for me & did it free of charge. Nice one lads & thanks.

No, if a pillion seat is fitted then pillion footrests are mandatory:-

I have also heard that officially this applies if the motorcycle was originally fitted with a pillion seat.

degreaser should shift it and plenty of elbow grease

dont put anything with caustic soda in it on the pillion peg hangers though
