why do you want to do it??!!

ur ruining your tyres...and if your caught you are charged with damage to public property

if your sad enough that you need to prove you can do a burnout to your mates you must be really sad

Or it's just a little bit of short fun, do it for a few seconds? No damaged to anything and a bit of fun.

Hold your front break very tightly and learn forward as far as you comfortably can, make sure your in first gear, mid range revs and start to let the clutch out while giving it a little bit more throttle, faster you get the clutch out faster it will work.

First.

As I mentioned else where, I the rs250 is one of the worst bikes I can think of for doing burnouts.

Firstgear, put the front wheel up against a kerb, standup. Hold the front brake hard, press down on the forks slightly. Slip the clutch like you would to make a fast get away, but don't let it all the way out.
Increase the revs and let the clutch out slightly until it stalls or starts to turn. If it stall you know that you've gone just past the point where you want to hold the clutch.

You wanna do that on an RS250! A bike of petite and most perfect beauty and poise?

Buy a honda hornet if you wanna be a loon, italian bikes are not made for cocking about in in such a way. You'll break something.

a stationary burnout!

hold the front brake in

in the case of an rs250

get the revs to 8000

and let the clutch slowly out

whilst standing up on the bike

to guko

no offence mate but you can do small burnouts on a garage forecourt to get diesel off your back tyre and not be done by the police

Just wandering, the majority of burnouts i did on my nc21 all i did was sit slightly on the tank with front brake full on, whacked on the throttle and the dropped the clutch so power went directly to the rear wheel and that seemed to work fine. Would this not be such a good idea for the rs250?

what he might be doing its trying to spin the rear up at low revs

but on an rs250 there isnt enough power until it hits the powerband

flame me if im wrong but im sure thats the case

It's fine when you are happy doing them. However when you're first doing them the front can jump forward, which can be quite worrying if you're not so confident around a bike.

lightish, no bodywork to damage, bulletproof motor, fat rear tyre.

Good for burnouts I guess! Wink

Yup! I'm personally convinced that both you and Jay are complete nutters that should be locked up. Especially after watching Jay ride around Cadwell!

Insane, the pair of you I tell ya! Laughing Wink

The rs250 has relatively less midrange than the 125, also has a fair bit higher gearing.
