Does anyone know a place on the internet that will sell bolts as my local bike shop classes it as a part that will need to be ordered, He said it'll take around 2 weeks and I really need it for the end of this week.

Also how to do I go about measuring bolts? it's an allen head bolt on a Piaggio NRG on a Brembo brake caliper.

Take the bolt to your local ironmongers to see if they can make one of them or they may know someone who can custom make one for you ?

Hi

You should have a local fastener supplier. Try the yellow pages as they have a section for them (I think).

However for bolts like that I would try and stick to the original equipement items. You need to know the grade of bolt used originally, as well and the bolt length, pitch and diameter. Get it wrong and the bolt might shear off leaving you with no brakes. Imagine that happening and if it doesn't scare the hell out of you then increase your imagined speed by 10mph at a time until it does.

Whatever you do, no not use anodised alloy fasterner on the brakes under any circumstances.

All the best

Keith

Have a look through MCN or similar for new parts adverts, while you may have to use that antiquated 'phone' thingy, there should be plenty of places that can deliver it to you next day.

I had a mobile tyre fitter leave mine out last year and it caused £1500 worth of damage when the caliper jammed into the front wheel on my return home.
The pic shows what happens if you don't do the job correctly or use inferior parts, the AA wanted to put a rusty bolt in to get me home Twisted Evil
