Hi, im after some help for my dad. He wants a new bike (not brand new) and hes likes things like the Suzuki Freewind and Aprilia Pegaso style bikes. He doesn't really 'tour' on it but rather just rides on weekends etc.
Hes after something around 650cc, any ideas?
I showed him the Fazer and he quite likes that but not as much as the freewind.

Seems he likes Enduro's.

Look at the BMW F650 and all those Stinkwheel mentioned, KLR if you want to do it on the cheap. New Yam XT660 as well, an SM version too.

Its not enduros hes after, more like a kind of tourer / offroader. Something not too old or rare either as were looking to buy on ebay. There are plenty of Aprilia Pegasos about, what are they like?
SV650s seem quite cheap too.

They are afaik single cylinder bikes, not one to go on about power but singles will struggle on motorways, might be annoying if you ever decided to go touring propper. Same with the bmw, nice bike, perfect for anything below 70mph but struggles after, not entirely sure but i think it might be the same engine used in the bmw in fact... (have heared that the transalp is a far better bike for allot less money btw)

The v-strom uses the sv650 engine, but the big trilie style (and a capable bike)

TDM 850 is a brilliant bike too, very much underated (almost had one)
