Hi, this is the first post from an about to be newby, in fact i'm even newer than newby, because i don't get the bike untill next wednesday. i'm buying one of the honda clones, new and registered, taxed etc, not one of the ones that need assembly, and i could do with some advice, help, or anything that you think i should know....
i have driven mopeds in the past, last one was a couple of years ago, and much as i would like to go for a slightly more expensive or "nicer" bike, i think my lack of bike knowledge makes it a better idea to buy a new one rather than a second hand one where i can't spot any obvious problems or faults....
basically, i'm quite excited at the thought of the independence that is around the corner, and this seems like a really decent and fair forum, so i wanted to say hello, and if anyone has experience in these copy bikes and has anything they can tell me so as to avoid hurting it in the early days, it will be much appreciated... my cbt is on monday... many thanks |

One main piece of advice I would give you, is watch out for the electrics. The engine is solid, the chrome rusts superficially at the blink of an eye (though is easy to get sparkling again), the lights and electrical connections are not great. The revcounter is a joke, and the speedo is too.
Well, it is with my chinese bike.
They do crash well though. I've lowsided and dropped mine several times, and all I've had to do is bend a mirror back into position. ____________________ I must not be a troll...
