Annual meet? Not as such, you could probably say Bulldog Bash or new years pissup are annual meets.

So no actual big get together then?

Why not!??

I think it would be pretty damn good, or course it would take some organising to pull it off....anyone?? Laughing

I fail to see how since the southerners are the ones who don't ride on the road anymore.

Bulldogbash would seem to be the ideal venue.

However about one BCF regular (at the time) turned up last year Confused.

To get a big BCF meet we would be talking somewhere that could accomodate a lot of people. It'd be cool to do something like Visordown did hiring an airfield track.

However we don't really have the people to justify it unfortunately. Remember a lot of people are going to need somewhere to stay, stuff to do etc.

Not everyone lilkes the same things (both in activities and accomadation etc ) , so it's going to be quite a lot of hassle at the forums current size.

There are plenty of meets that go on through out the year which get pretty big turn outs relatively (ie over twenty or so).

All depends on how many active members would be willing to meet. We're currently organsing a Scottish meet for the 20th of March. I can see about 10-15 bike turning up which is a start.

How much bigger is Visordown then? I seem to think this is a pretty large forum with many members.

Lets put it this way, if you put up a new topic in general forum, take the number of replies you get within 5 minutes and multiply that by 10 Laughing

They're a wild bunch that lot, far too busy for my liking. Good to look through the forum though Thumbs Up

Hiring an airfield track, how good would that be...

Looked in there general forum and it seems to be all 'off topic' stuff? Confused

I can see the attraction of an air-field though......oh yes!

I'm a member of the Hornets nest, and every year they have two events the Spring sting, and the Swarm. Last years swarm was held at the angel pub larling, near snetterton. A huge amount of organisation goes into these events with planning starting around 9-12months befre an event.
The main hornet even is the swarm, which consists of a weekend of events, rideouts, raffles, competitions, treasure hunts...ect with a track day on the monday for those who wish to go.
If someone was to put the effort in to sorting everything for a BCF people would go, its jsut finding some one who has enough spare time and organisational skills to pull such and even off.

if any one remembers, i tried to do this ages ago, and meet for a long weekend in cornwall, but it all falls apart. if someone wants to plan and def get it together, i would be up for it.

but i think its easier and more realistic to either meet new people from the forum at shows or something....or come to the ring this summer

ok, plug over Laughing

will

What do you actually want out of a meet though (original poster)?

Just a meet up to show off bikes or what or are you actually thinking someone could pull off and organise some 50+ bikers on a rideout without loosing anyone? I imagine it takes and awful lot of organisation because of the vast amount of people. Smile

The only real reason can be a social event. Otherwise a rideout would be much better organised locally.

Preferably there should be several other activites involved with the social event, ie a rideout, maybe drag racing, minitmoto, etc.

We have had some impressive numbers turning up for both minimoto and paintballing in the last couple of years.

G, I dont know if public liability will be needed really?

If it "technically is" I would just bugger it. Dont let anybody in whos likely to sue!

How do you know that?

I know people (that I have met) that I would be happy to 'let in', but others, I wouldn't want my head on the line. Could get very, very nasty if it was.

So need someone brave enough to risk a very small chance that they could get seriously messed over.
