I was told today about a Honda tricycle scooter. Is this just another hallucination caused by funny mushrooms or did such a thing ever hit out shores? I was told it was called a Stream, but that name now seems to be attached to a People Carrier.

Yes, I have seen a piccy of one. They had a single sided leading link on the front and dual back wheels. They were very close together, not so much like a trike.

Google image search for "honda stream scooter" reveals....

That looks like it. It reminds me of the old Arial/BSA 3. It looks as though the rear wheels remain vertical whilst the rest of the thing leans from a pivot directly beneath the seat. I rather fancied have a go at making one with independant rear swinging arms so that the whole machine would lead in a normal way. A nice start might be to find one of these and do some serious modification..like putting a sensible sized engine in etc.Anybody know the wherabouts one of these Hondas? Although I must admit that the examples diplayed on https://www.gijoes.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1871520 leave me a little bit disappointed!!!!

As Stinkwheel said, it's a Honda Stream.

I can't imagine they'd be too stable, with the tiny track (width between wheel centres). Even with independent rear suspension, I can't see it'd be anything but scary to go round a corner on at any speed.

I think one of the Japanese makers had something like this designed for fast food delivery. I think I saw a picture of one with Yo-Sushi plastered on it.

Found it (google is my friend). It's a Honda Gyro with canopy. Apparently this 3-wheeler tilts for cornering and it has a boot.

Apparently BAT motorcycles at Biggin Hill sell them in the UK.

My notion was to pivot the swing arms from a common shaft, which itself would be fastened to the "floor/frame", and the rear wheels would thus have to lean with the rest of the machine when cornering. The suspension units would be linked in the manner of the much despised "Hyrolastic" system of the BMC Minis and 1100s.

I am rather pleased that I do not have any shares in BAT Motorcycles. They sound to be run by people with as much common sense and intelligence as Toady B liar!
