I got one in the post this morning, says I have to solder into the rev counter cable and one other wire has to be tapped into the 12v power.
Can anyone tell me if this is worth fitting? I mean the main reasons I bought it are for the bling factor but i dont want to risk damaging my bike if i have to cut/solder a few wires. ____________________ Hear Thy Call..............................

Me and a freind were planning on making some, exactly the same but the idea was to wrap a wire around one of your plug leads instead of tapping into a rev wire. This means you can use it on any (petrol) bike and it just detects the sparking and calculates rpm.
Once its made you can do all sorts such as rev limiting (possibility of a switch on and off 33bhp limit )
We never got round to it as i never found time but one day! ____________________ 2004 Aprilia Tuono |

I have the gear indicator which is excellent when changing down. It helps avoid that "am I in third or second" thus avoiding that nasty locking rear wheel when you you knock it into first - always helpful on entry to a roundabout!
Plus you always know when your in sixth and your not trying to find an imaginary extra gear.
Was never sure on the rev light as I thought thats pretty much the same as the rev counter ____________________ As I said to that guy with the crutches and full camouflage gear, you can hide but you can't run. |
