Hey folks, I now have my bike, lock, cover, jacket, helmet and gloves, insurance and tax. However i've hit my budget limit and I still need to buy armoured trousers and boots.

Basically I need something thats better then nothing really, I can't afford best or even mid range, just something to keep my legs and feet warm and give me a fighting chance if I fall off.

Any ideas (such as brand, item or location to buy from) would be greatly appreciated.

Look on ebay for second hand stuff.

I got my textile trousers on there for £30, and recently sold a pair of Alpinestars boots for £27.

I got some £80 boots from heine gericke, and some £50 leather trousers, armoured, knee sliders the works.

Not exactly dirt cheap, but good quality kit for not much moolah.

The german army do a fine range of footwear.

£15 max gets you a pair of A1 condition army boots, you can wear them comfortably off the bike and they offer good protection.

I've worn nothing else on my feet for the last 10 years and normally buy a new pair every 18 months.
