Hi guys,

I want to jackup my bandit. I had a go on one a jacked up on a while back and it felt fine (and i reckon it looks cool)

I gather it will turn sharper but will it be any less stable? What are the downsides to raising a bike? I have long legs so that wont be a problem....

Can you not jack the suspension up just by adjusting the standard rear shock?

My mates ZX6R (getting re-built) has been jacked right up now, street-fighter'd of course after his last smash...

Was jacked up before it went down the road, don't think it was any different...

I was also thinking about these. (Seen some on ebay.)

Doesnt look half bad, so I wouldnt mind some info on them too. Smile

Even at £20 or whatever, its a pretty cheap way of enhancing the bike. I may just get one anyway, £20 aint a huge gamble. Thumbs Up

I also like the look of jacked up bandits Very Happy

I know the plates you mean of (the two arms that bolt to the underside of the shock). I guess the bike turns quicker but unsure myself of any advantages other than asthetic value.

Have you seen the new adjustable jacking arms in Streetfighter mag? They have bolts and thread in the middle to allow different height setups Thumbs Up

Depends how much you jack it up. Too much and it will be very twitchy, you may find it wheelies more as you are shortening the wheelbase (but not by much).

It will be less stable.

Turning in quicker means less stable, if you mke a bike directionally stable, it will go in straight lines all day no trouble, but it won't want to turn, lively steering whilst fun to ride in the twisties means less stable in a straight line, whether that amount of instability is acceptable to you is a compromise and something you must decide.
