How would I know if a spark isnt sparking properly on a twin?

I have always had single cylinder bikes, so if a plug wasnt working then the bike just wouldnt go, but now I have a twin I am not sure how to spot if one isnt firing. the reason why I ask is that my bike is feeling different in someway and my mate who was behind me on his R1 said that it sounded like it was missing?

Probably a dumb Q, but I have no idea.

Depending if its a naked bike, touch the pipes (i know it sounds silly) for a split second once its been ticking over for five minutes and if its hot its firing in that cylinder, if its colder than the other one, youve got problems!
