I don't mind some of the cleaning, plastics, etc but I have a Hornet and the pipes can be a pain in the ass. So someone I know who's on the dole I'm gonna pay him 5 quid an hour. He wil be cleaning it two hours a week. Very Happy

I normally don't mind cleaning my bike, but the novelty quickly wears off this time of year when you can't keep it clean for any longer than a couple of days.
It's also no fun standing out on the driveway in the freezing cold, so the bike has suffered a bit this winter.

I hate it too but having a morocross I can't get away from it. Have to clean it every time I use it which is a right pain in the arse! Sad

I readily admit to being a bike (and car) cleanaholic - 2 cars and 1 bike are cleaned diligently EVERY week in my household whatever the weather.

I clean the bike even if it's just a quick wipe over with a cloth after every ride without fail to remove any unwanted grime. I believe that keeping it in a clean state is essential for my own wellbeing too. I know my bike inside and out because I keep it up together I'm not worried about its' mechanical and physical wellbeing when I might be taking a pillion or travelling at speeds (not necessarily over the speed limit) that could see me or my passenger hurt should something go wrong. It just puts my mind at rest.

I think there might be the personal satisfaction of having a finished article that is the product of my physical work once I'm done that appeals too as in my job although it is in its' own way rewarding I don't really get the physical satisfaction of an end product exactly.

Apologies for the Ramble Confused

I generally clean the bits around where I think that strange new noise is coming from.

I hate cleaning it because I don't have easy access to an outdoor tap, so I have to make do with a bucket. It is so much easier when you can use a hose.

A hose, handfuls of leaves, a cloth, an old towel.. The only parts which do regularly get cleaned are the exhausts. I've taken to wiping the forks dry before they get put away too, though this is closing the door after the horse has bolted, because a stone chip or few started the pitting off just fine.

Time for Stinkwheel's araldite bodge methinks... (This bike is going to end up matt black before too long... Laughing

I like cleaning my bike, what I hate is trying to clean it after riding in the recent crappy weather, my bike is filthy and will take ages to clean up. All that salt and shit, needs more than a bucket of soapy H2O.

I hate cleaning my bikes, I haven't even rode my Bandit yet and it is starting to accumalate dust, I can't even by bothered to wipe it off.

Maintaining well being of a bike is different though, I'll make sure i'll have chains lubed and tyre pressures correct everytime as I need to feel safe. Smile

I like doing it in summer as its stays clean longer. Its depressing to see hours of polishing ruined after riding for 5 minutes in the winter!

Spent about 3 hours cleaning the bandit yesterday, wasnt too bad as I was sat in the sun. Smile

Cleaning the old Aprilia wasnt too bad as I could just give the bike a scrub to get all the cack off it, a bit of metal polish on the frame and swinger and it would look rather nice. (Could never be bothered taking the fairing off.)

The Bandit was desperate for a clean, so I worked long and hard on that, making sure it shined. It wasnt exactly fun, but after its done, you feel proud that it looks like it does, the hard work pays off. Spent ages on the down pipes and can with the metal polish, in he end the can looked like a mirror! Shocked

Sure it can be hard work, but it aint too bad. Razz
