Well he got a broken leg for his troubles. He'll think twice before doing that again. I think he was lucky - those guard rails can do nasty things to people when they slide into them Sick

Those bloody RR riders are all idiots!

I've seen this vid before on another forum, we were pretty sure he wasn't trying to over take.. just he came around knee down and couldnt slow/stop in time for the car so went on the outside (as you would) and lost it.

I don't think he was trying to over take!

I'd think I'd disagree with that. He could have slowed it down - he just misjudged it and it all went pear-shaped. He could have seen the car all through the bend and had plenty of time change his mind.

Either way he's still an arsehole, you should expect something to be there, not presume that it's clear. Deserves all he got in my opinion. Oh, and I hope he's only 3rd party.

That's a bit harsh. He was stupid but everyone makes mistakes. He didn't hit anyone else and only hurt himself. I hope he was fully comp.

And also give us a laugh. As long as there are bikes on this planet there will be folk like him willing to hurt themselves!

He could have stopped if he wanted to, he just mis-judged it.

I'll give him credit for having the balls though, especially on that cliff edge, lucky c!nt.

He could have stopped, but then 60 odd % of all crashes could probably have been avoided.. it's a bit different when you're actually doing it though... think back to a crash you've had (you being, whoevers reading this in general) could you have saved your crash?

Yes he mis-judged that cars distance from him, probably didn't expect that car to slow down BUT he was already at full lean, closing in quick.. it looked like he paniced and went wide.

Doesn't make him a complete twat.. lot of people do knee down here so how are you lot any different? Rolling Eyes Just becuase you haven't crashed yet maybe.. still taking the same risks.. unfortunately CBR dude lost it....

The bike rider says:
Quote:
yeah, i deserve every flame ya got. for some reason i had it in my head that the double lanes held for the rest of that turn, i went to get up next to her and by the time i realized my mistake i had no where to go. rear wheel hit the guardrail support and threw me in front of the bike and into the rail. the bike then tumbled over me and caught my leg and dragged it along for a couple feet. amazingly two docs said they could not find a broken bone anywhere . my left knee is bashed up pretty bad, and my left ankle has a pretty little sprain going on. ray actually wasnt the one running the cam. he was standing on the inside of the turn i believe. in the vid you can see a hole poked through the inside of my left knee of my leathers. that went clear through them and into my knee. had a hole in my knee a little bigger than a nickel. dont have much movement right now, cant bear weight really. i doubt i will be walking any sooner than a week or so. starting physical therapy this week.
the bike is rashed pretty good on the left side, you can see the left mirror by my head in the vid, swingarm is rashed, footpeg broken. rear rim bent. not sure what else. i still havent seen it personally. it was a painful lesson. one well learnt. i dont know if i am still going to iraq now or not. if so, i doubt i will be riding much before i go. when i get back i plan on tracking it out

Somehow, I doubt that very, very much. Darwin will remove him from the gene pool.

He mis-judged it and made a mistake. There's not one of you people that hasn't done the same before so get off your high horses.

Things can't go perfect all the time and if you looked at the thread he posted you can see he isn't some brainless arsehole, he's learned from his mistake.

just looks like he hit the marbles on the outside of the road, to me it looks like he thinks he can get through maybe he would have had the tires not gone under, stupid though

Agreed. Thumbs Up I'd be amazed if nobody here was being at all hypocritical in saying he's a twat there, surely at some point, on some ride you've thought to yourself "Phew, I was lucky there". He was just unfortunate enough to be unlucky and wind up in hospital as a result of a mistake.
