They don't work.

They can just turn up the contrast on the picture to see your number.

They are illegal and don't work, all they do is alter the contrast on the picture and they can not only have you for speeding but also for haveing an illegal plate...

If somebody was into that sort of thing then a flip plate is all you could do, not really a great idea either..

Don't want a ticket? don't speed... the only thing you can have legaly is a road angel or similar...

edit:bah beten to it!

There was a sign company just along from Victor Devine, Glasgow, a Honda Bike dealer and they eventually closed up. So, I guess camera proof plates didn't work to well otherwise they would have made lots of money from it?

jcbiker, it's quite easy to tell that you're 14. Laughing

Don't spray hair spray on your number plate unless you want something to be able to tell people about and for them to laugh at you. Thumbs Up

Your mum actually let you try that on her car?

Go on try it more, drive through more gatsos when you've got hair spray on the number plate as you'll soon find one which actually has a camera in.

Can I interest in you in buying some magic beans?

got the beans thanks Very Happy .

sorry dodsi, i will go to bed soon.

no she didnt know, but she was very confused (not hard) when no ticket came through. if you dont believe me, buy a special plate, or even better, get some tickets and lose your licence. if you do, however, let those wrist's twist!!!

If you need a flashproof plate to avoid fixed cameras then you need an eye test. Mobile cameras don't flash generally.

They absolutely do not work.

I saw a test of them in a magazine once and they just didnt work at all. They were no different to a normal numberplate lol.

A company spokesman made up some excuse about it being more effective under the right conditions.

Ever heard of the offence of attempting to pevert the cause of justice?

Just by having such a plate makes you liable for the offence, forget fines and points, you are now looking at imprisonment and a criminal record!

Even hair spray applied for that specific reason would satisfy the offence! Rolling Eyes
