Shed Security

Hi all,

Just registered and looking for bit of advice about shed security. I have moved house recently and will need to be taking my bike back with me, which is at my mates garage. I stayed 2mins from my mate, who let me keep my bike in his garage and get it when ever I wanted.

Ive moved house and it is just to impractical to drive to my mates to pick the bike up. My new house has a 8' 6' shed, which I was going to keep the bike in, but for safe of mind would like a ground anchor.Problem is though, the shed has been built on concrete slabs, so if I decided to cut the base of the shed, then I would need to break up the slabs and concrete an anchor in?Anybody else got anchors in their sheds?

I've got one in my shed,........but it has a concrete floor Cool

Try taking one slab up, digging out 4-6", then filling that with concrete, and bedding an anchor in the fresh concrete Thumbs Up

Cant you just drill into the concrete, bolt the anchor down & batter f**k out of the bolt heads to stop then being undone?? I've got a 1 off ground anchor. Its actually a hinge for the airelon on a BAE 146. Its made out of titanium & is basically a 1 inch thick hoop with a flat base with 4 holes in to secure it to the wing (or ground in my case). I used 6" long bolts to bolt it to the stone paving slabs in my yard, then just mushroomed the bolts over. You can use an angle grinder to remove em, but it'll take a while & make enough noise to wake elvis.

Lol, my bike has just got a chain put through the front wheel, a padlock on the shed door, and a padlock on the gate into the garden (its the only way your getting in or out of it)...not very safe, but i always leave mine in gear cus i know the little theiving ned bastards who would take it dont know shit about bikes, and they would have a hard time moving it in gear Razz

....Its an idea to fit a battery powered alarm too, its basicly just a magnetic detector, if the door is opened and the alarm isnt switched off in a few seconds, whoever is screwing with your hardware will shit a brick (and hopefully be confronted by the bikes owner and have his face smashed in Thumbs Up
