Throttle hand!!!!! Back in business.

I am sitting here typing with my left hand,
Why?
Cos I fell at work on thursday and broke a bone in my wrist!!!!
I have a cleaning job early in the morning, Tripped over a broken floor tile and "crunch".
So here I am, the weather over here is lovely, sun shining, roads dry, bikes everywhere. Two bikes in the back garden, I can't even ride them.
Plaster cast on for at least 3 weeks. (probably longer)
I have ferry tickets payed for me and zx6r to go to brothers wedding at easter.
Why me????




On the bright side (yes there is one!) I clean in a government building and I had reported the faulty tile a week or so ago, and they let me drive home after a fall. I went to solicitor yesterday, Have to at least get loss of earnings, I have mummy's mortgage to pay.
But i'm still peeved. I'm going to go crazy.

No idea what the NI legal system is like, but if you had previously reported the tile/area as unsafe and can prove it was an accident then you should be liable for a reasonable amount. Certainly more than just loss of earnings

Sorry to hear about it though. Mend well more than fast, a gammy wrist can be hell if it's screwed up whilst knitting.

That sucks man, I too have a problem with both of my wrists (i'm not that lucky by the way! ). I seriously don't know why, too much guitar playing and shooting pool, I guess.

Strangely, I to have had a early morning cleaning job, some of the best times I have had (sad I know), not too rub it in

anyway, I hope your wrist gets better and you get a little more than lost earnings, be well!!

I have a plaster cast on so sitting on my hand would probably leave me with a sore elbow too. The whole incident was caught on security camera, my right foot caught the edge of the carpet tile and pulled it up the i tripped over it with my left foot. I had a bucket of hot water with flash in it, which I threw (cos I didn't want to get soaked) and down i went, landed on my hand which went from under me, then I slid on my elbow. I have a massive carpet burn on my elbow and that is the sorest at the moment as the cast is rubbing it.
Anyway I'll survive, my kids are being really good.

Just take advantage of being incapacitated and make sure the children run around pampering you and feeding you constantly with cups of tea and plenty of sympathetic hugs.

Get some nice vitamin E moisturiser on that carpet burn

Loads of hugs, but they're too young to make tea. The other half is back from Liverpool tonight so he'll take some pressure off.

Ok, I got a phone call from the hospital yesterday, "hello Dr blke was wondering if you come up to the hospital today, sometime before 1, he has just reviewed your xray and would like to see you."
So up I went, crapping myself, wondering what he had seen.
Turns out I have no broken bone at all. So i've had a bloody plaster cast on for over a week for nothing.
They cut the cast off and re x-rayed it and told me to go home and do light exercise!!!!! I have to go back on friday for a reveiw. Ahhhhhhhh.
I took the bike to dublin today, wrist was sore for a while but it's not too bad now.
Had my zx6 sitting at 155mph. 11k rpm. On the motorway on the way home.
Can't wait to do that run again when my bloody hand feels right again.
