I helped a friend replace their throttle cable on an NSR125 import recently. We know it is restricted as we can't get it to go faster than about 80-85mph. I don't know the NSR very well and the cable splits into two one goes to the carb the other to a bit underneath the right hand fairing panel. Now i noticed ont this bit on the right that when u put full throttle the bit doesn't turn all the way to the stop, so i am asuming the carb may not be fully opening either. So what exactly is this bit on the right hand side??? and how do i go about de-restricting it as i can see now way of getting more throttle movement!! Help would be aprreciated from all u gurus out there :D

Hi

The bit on the side of the engine is the 2 stroke oil pump. Adjust this to open more and you will loose power (along with using more 2 squeak oil), adjust it to open less and you stand a chance of seizing the engine and wrecking the main bearings.

Peer down the carb and check it is opening fully.

All the best

Keith
