Just been looking around for some aux led lights to add to the bike as brake lights.

Seen from some US sites there's gadgets to flash these for 5 secs before going steady - like these, click here

Now I like the idea of these to wake up dozy commuters and school run mums but the question is, are they legal in the UK?

Bear in mind this will be on a second brake light (think like the hi-level one in cars).

I wouldn't have it as a second light as if there is a copper behind you and one brakelight flashes and the other dousn't he may pull you.

Not sure of the legality of them but you can get them in this country.

Thanks for the info.
I'd seen reference to TailBlazers on a US site but didn't get what they were.
Looked on the NippyNormans site and for convenience I may change plans and go for one of these - click here, as it seems easier build into one unit.

Looking again I need to see if the front equivalent is legal - click here for info. I suspect not, as I seem to recall a flashing front is reserved for emergency vehicles, but I'm willing to be corrected on that Thumbs Up

Yea I saw the front flashers or trail blazers, but personally wouldn't try them. There are just too many Numptys that would think you are flashing them out of junctions. Shocked

As for Nippy Normans I have had first class service from him, and one thing arrived 2 days after I ordered it, impresively quick.

Well recomended. Middle Finger oops I mean Thumbs Up Mr. Green
