This isnt about me this is about my friend. The story starts with him buying a brand new peugeot xr6 sports bike 50 cc for £2500. His insurance is 700 pound with 750 pound excess.

So we move onto his cbt, he gets the bike from the local bike shop and takes it to the place where he is going to take his cbt, once arriving he goes on the bike and it has the wrong restriction kit in.
as a result it does not pull away under 8k rpm. They told him to get enough power ride around with the choke on slightly (like thats safe). With the choke on it would just about stay running.

The bike got up to 80 degrees and was told by his instructor to try and ride without it on now as it should be warmed up. Then 20 seconds later it stalls. Then coming back into the cbt place it stalls and he falls off. Scratching the fairing, breaking clutch leaver, mirror, indicator, grips. Estimated at about 800 pounds worth of damage to fix everything.

He had the bike for a day. On the bright side he passed his cbt and was told he did very well considering the poor bike he was riding.

those bikes dont come restricted, they send the restrictor kit for the dealer to fit when the bike is sent to the uk, and that was the guy from the cbt, and yes he has taken it back and they are going to fix it, what they r going to fix no 1 knows yet.

You definately need to call them as an indicator mirror and fairing would never cost £800-£100 pounds max, be sure there not charging you for refitting the restrictor kit, make sure you ask where every single pound of your money has been spent when you go to pick it up if theres any charges there that shouldnt be ie for refitting the restrictor make sure you dont pay for there mistakes!!!

I thaught the XR6 was just a standard Peugeot scooter engine. Ok theres no way of restricting a variator on an XR6 but surely the exhaust is restricted. Confused

I may be wrong. but surely if its so messed up they should just replace the whole bike for him...

Instructor taking advantage of some poor kid (that's not meant derogatorily) who is desperate to ride a bike. Instead of being responsible and saying 'Look Pal, take it back to the shop and complain that it's not running properly, then you can rebook with us' he/she continue's to attempt to CBT him as they don't want to lose a couple of quids worth of profit resulting in the above scenario.

Very Poor - I'd write a letter to the Company who undertook the instruction mentioning the specific instructor as it could probably considered to be unethical to continue the training. I don't think it's gonna get you any recompense (although if lucky he might obtain some type of refund for his training), but it might ensure that the Instructor will think twice before attempting to CBT someone who doesn't have the correct tools for the job.

ok here is the situation, ths bike shop and the cbt people work in partner ship. They booked the cbt for him (the shop did) they had the bike for a week before hand, in which they had time to sort this bike but didnt untill the morning of the cbt. They should not of given it to him in the state it was in. so not really his fault.

Totally derestricted, my mates peugeot xrwhatever (same bike as your mates) produces around 7 horsepower which isn't bad for a 50. But restricted, they struggle to pull away due to the extra weight of the motard frame, about 2.5 horsepower is produced at the crank.

Sorry, they are the same running gear. The names are different. My mates is an sp-6 super moto, and your mates would be the x something 6 sports bike, correct?
