Have any of u heard of it?? I own 1 as well as my NSR and it has the same engine as the RS125, the rotax engine. It is an offroad bke so gearing is different so it's top end is 80mph at best, also it is really big. I am 6ft tall and i am on tiptoes sat on it. It accelerates almost as well as my NSR and wheelies are great. I just thought i would share that with you all ;D

Hi m8, yes i heard of the Tuareg, its got sort of Paris Dakar styling, and it looks pretty big physically for a 125. The full power motor as you say is similar to the RS125 engine, and it should give good acceleration. In fact most trailbike 125's like the DT125R and KMX125, TS125R etc will when de restricted will have the edge on the likes of NSR's Mito's etc when it comes to inital acceleration. They have lower gearing, and so can get away quickly, but the advantage diminishes as the speed increases. This is due to a trail bike having crap aerodynamics, so above 60 it really loses out. Also as the gearing is lower then it means that more gear changes are needed to reach a given speed. As a comparison to the NSR the KMX125 does 21,34,46,61,73,81mph, (in gear speeds), but at low speeds the KMX will have the NSR beat, until the wind resistance and low gearing begin to count against it.

Hi

Yes, heard of the Tuareg. You must be tall if you can ride one of them! Which version do you have?

The Tuareg Rally was a very quick bike, and made something like 26~27 hp at the rear wheel (in the road tests). Seat hight is something like 36". Engine wise they use the Rotax 123 engine which was used in the RS until the mid '90s. Early ones used the Rotax 127 engine which was used in the early AF1, but the Tuareg version had a plated bore (early AF1 had a steel bore) and ran different ignition timing.

Got a few brochures and the like for them

If you need engine parts the try Peter Knight on 0176 141 4106. He is a very helpful and friendly Rotax specialist.

All the best

Keith

Sounds like a straight Tuareg (the Rally was is orange, purple and a few other colours). Nice enough bike, large petrol tank.

Enjoy

All the best
