Think i got snapped by a GATSO on the way up to Edinbourgh

Thing is i was traveling on the other side of the road. It was a standard old style camera and flashed twice as I drove TOWARDS it.

I didnt think they could do that. Im 99% sure there was nothing else it could have snapped and it definetly flasshed twice

Anybody got and gen on this.

SHould have gone on the bike and given it the V's!

Don't think you'd have managed to get all your bargains and the partner all on the bike!!! Laughing

Hmm, I haven't heard of this happening before though, I've sped past cameras facing towards me at speeds where it should flash (only under acceleration) and it didnt do a thing....

Well I have before as well on cameras which I know always have film in.

I've even done an overtake into the direct line of a camera but no comeback.

Just found it really strange. Well 12 more days to go till I find out eh!

Hi

Yes they can often flash you head on. However it may well not be homologated for that purpose so they might well not be able to issue you with a ticket for it.

All the best

Afaik the older style cameras need the reference points on the ground to prove that you were going the speed you were - could be lucky

Flashed from the front.

They do not need the lines legally. They are just there for confirmation, to try and make it more difficult to argue.

All the best

As far as I was aware they can't do you for it face on??

Although me and my buddy past through one at the end on January on bikes, doing a ton+ face on, quite amusing! Laughing
