of course it's quiet, it's a fuel cell - therefore electric

the question that none of the environmental hippies ever ask (or answer) is where does the Hydrogen come from in the first place

either from good old CH4 (natural gas, fossil fuel)

or from water (which requires huge amounts of electricity and this as we know is generated in the main in coal fired power plants, so your non polluting bike runs on fossil fuel whichever way you look at it)

and if I said three phrases, what would it mean to you

Hydrogen fuel tank
Hindenburg
R101

no thank you Shocked

I heard about this on Five live earlier, and I have to say all props to them, that's really cool! Thumbs Up Smile

If they can get it going well enough (it only does 50mph, so still work needed), imagine being able to do the tonne, silently! That would be amazing, once you got used to the idea.

I'd feel more than a bit stupid with a bike making artificial engine noises though. It'd have to be turned off.

As for using hydrogen fuel, it does just tend to be cracked from hydrocarbons in the same way as petrol. Confused

If they could get sufficient solar power to get it from water, it might be okay, but I still think we're going to be far better off with bio diesel and alcohol powered vehicles in the future.

Heard about that on Radio Five as well.
Glad someone posted Thumbs Up

Sounds to me like it'd make a good commuter bike, certainly city based, London, Manchester, etc. However, the cost would have to come down to compete with the scooters.

Thinking how do you stand with road tax for something like this. Guess if not already covered the government will have to invent a new category if it takes off.

So did I, it involves attaching the brake cable to the tread in my tyre and as I got faster the noise got better. Thumbs Up Mr. Green

Wouldn't mind going for a run on the bike and at the end of it having something to drink! Other than that, it looks and sounds like cack!

A report was released stating that louder bikes were in fact 'safer', at the same time the legal noise limit for road bikes was reduced by the Labour government.

It's-so-fat-and-heavy-for-it's-power-output.

It's power to weight isn't particularly impressive when compared to a hot gixxer.

Laughing

Just because someone writes something down doesn't make it true Smile.

Fastest I've ever seen this non-bike being ridden in a video is 4mph or so Smile.

You know that Tomohawk? Having seen it, it's not a bike at all!

It's just a narrow car, with fancy double wishbone (with only one side of the wishbone) suspension.

It would do that if the laws of physics were changed.

Or it was in outer space and rocket propelled.

Or it was in the head of an advertising/sales person.

Otherwise, it's just numbers. I could say my rs50 will be faster than Rossi's bike if I'm riding me rs, doesn't make it any more true.

besides 500bhp is nowhere near enough to make a faired bike do 300mph

so that brick has no chance

the Big CC 1600cc turbo busa did 228 with about that power at the wheel

another 70mph is just unthinkable
